CMR Group Awarded R&D Funding
CMR Group said it has won funding support from Innovate UK for a new electrical wiring harness being developed for industrial diesel and gas engines used in harsh environments. The firm, which specializes in marine control instrumentation and electrical engineering, is set to invest the five-figure cash sum in a major research and development program to design and develop a new generation of ‘people-centered’ harnesses. An electrical wiring harness is a piece of equipment that forms the backbone of an electronic engine…
The Digital Future of Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors
CMR Group’s chief technical officer, Patrice Flot, considers the current approach to sensing exhaust gas temperature (EGT) on high horsepower engine platforms and the capabilities provided by new digital technology. An EGT sensor measures the temperature of the engine exhaust gas to prevent damage to critical components such as the after treatment system, turbines and cylinder head exhaust valves. It can also be used inside the combustion chambers where hot gases are generated.
CMR Debuts Gas Engine Pressure Regulator
A range of gas engine pressure regulators, which provide control of pressure levels within the fuel train on dual fuel or natural gas engines, is new for control and instrumentation specialists CMR Group. CMR’s regulators enable high-pressure gas fuel from lines and tanks to be reduced to safe and/or usable pressures for the secure and reliable operation of high horsepower engine technology used in a wide range of harsh and challenging environments including the onshore/offshore oil and gas industry.
CMR Debuts Engine Supervision and Management Software
CMR Group has introduced a new Integrated Alarm Monitoring and Control System (IAMCS) for marine and naval engine applications which it said provides technologically-advanced capabilities for improved marine vessel supervision, safety and management and delivers a cost-effective IAMCS solution that creates long-term operational savings for marine customers. The new IAMCS systems will be on display at the CMR Group stand at the SMM 2014 tradeshow in Hamburg, September 9-12. A microprocessor…
