Wärtsilä to Equip Knutsen LNG Carrier
Wärtsilä said it will provide an integrated propulsion and cargo handling solution for a new 30,000-cubic-meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier being built at the Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) in South Korea on behalf of Norway based Knutsen OAS Shipping.Under a 12-year long term charter, the vessel, expected to be delivered during the first half of 2021, will be operated by Knutsen and chartered to Edison S.p.A, an Italian energy services provider. First LNG Bunkering of OSV in North America
Harvey Gulf International Marine, LLC reported that its dual fuel offshore support vessel (OSV) M/V Harvey Energy has today bunkered LNG as a marine fuel. The news makes Harvey Gulf the first North American owner/operator of a dual fuel OSV to bunker LNG as a marine fuel, as well as the first to complete a truck to vessel transfer of LNG. The bunkering took place at a shore-based terminal owned by a subsidiary of Martin Midstream Partners L.P. in Pascagoula, Miss. Two Offshore Industry Contracts for Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce will supply Petrobras with advanced maintenance and repair services to support fifteen Rolls-Royce RB211-G62 industrial gas turbine power generation units which are installed on four Petrobras oil platforms operating in the petroleum rich, pre-salt Campos Basin. The four Petrobras platforms, which together can produce over 500,000 barrels of oil per day, or 25 per cent of Brazil's entire output, are reliant on nearly 375MW of Rolls-Royce generated power to maintain a consistently high production output.
New Subsea Snubbing Unit Safer, Optimizes Rig-Time
Balance Point Control Ltd. (BPC), a Superior Energy Services, Inc. company, has developed the Concentric Snubbing Unit- 160 (CSU – 160) rig assist snubbing unit. According to BPC their new CSU-160 is the first fully remote-operated snubbing unit on the market. Furthermore, BPC built a complete Zone-1 electric-driven hydraulic powerpack with four separate drive banks to set a new safety standard in the industry as this minimizes personnel exposure to pressurized hydraulic lines.
Subsea Contracts Galore for Ezra
Ezra Holdings announces multiple contracts, worth + US$160-million, for its subsea, offshore & energy services divisions. Ezra divisions, EMAS AMC, EMAS Marine and EMAS Energy have been awarded multiple contracts for projects in the North Sea and Asia Pacific. The average tenor for all contracts is approximately 2.6 years including options. EMAS AMC has been awarded several new contracts and options worth up to US$85 million in aggregate for several projects in the North Sea and Asia. This includes a project with an oil major in the Asia Pacific region worth up to US$45-million.
