PBST Combines Range of Air-Management Systems

The PBST brand is positioning itself in the market with a new range of air-management systems. Under this name, customers will in future be able to find a wide range of technologies for turbocharging and exhaust-gas treatment for a variety of applications in the shipping, energy, rail transport and industrial sectors, as well as in construction and mining.In addition to turbochargers for aspirating engines, the product range also includes electrical turbo blowers (ETB) and catalytic converters for selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for the purpose of exhaust-gas treatment.

Naming Ceremony for Cameron Project LNG Carrier

On April 19, a naming ceremony was held at the Nagasaki Shipyard of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. for a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier owned by a joint company established by NYK, the Mitsubishi Corporation (MC), Toho LNG Shipping Co. Havila Kystruten, Kongsberg Ink Long-term Service Deal

Havila Kystruten and Kongsberg have signed a 10-year  “Power-by-the-Hour” service agreement for four new coastal cruise vessels that are currently under construction. The contract value is 150 million kroner ($17.5 million).Power-by-the-Hour was launched in 2017, and was first sold to the cargo operator NorLines the same year. The agreement means that the vessel owner is handing the responsibility for service planning and performance back to the equipment’s supplier, Kongsberg Maritime. The customer pays a fixed charge per hour of operation, per ship.

MHI: LNG Carrier "Marvel Crane" Christened

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding held a christening ceremony on February 21 for the next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier currently under construction for Mitsui & Co., Ltd.The new ship, named Marvel Crane, is a design that significantly improves both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance due to the adoption of efficient hull structure and hybrid propulsion system. Completion is scheduled for March 2019, after which the Marvel Crane will be put into service, transporting LNG for the Cameron LNG Project in the U.S., in which Mitsui & Co.

Next-Generation LNG Carrier Christened

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. held a christening ceremony for a next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier under construction for TRANS PACIFIC SHIPPING 5 LTD., a joint venture of JERA Co., Inc. (JERA) and Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL). The new ship, named Nohshu Maru, is the fourth vessel of the latest model "Sayaringo STaGE" type, featuring significant improvements in both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance due to the adoption of a more efficient hull structure and an innovative hybrid propulsion system.

Mitsubishi Shipbuilding held a christening ceremony for a next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier under construction for MOG-X LNG Shipholding S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. Rolls-Royce Unveils New Medium Speed V-Engines

Rolls-Royce has launched a V-line version of the new B33:45 liquid fuel and B36:45 gas engine series, completing the engine lineup following the launch of the first variants three years ago.The V-line will consist of 12-, 16- and 20-cylinder variants, while the inline platform is available in 6-, 8- and 9-cylinder. At 600 KW per cylinder the new engines offer a 20 percent increase in power per cylinder compared to their predecessors. Rolls-Royce Launches New LNG Bergen Engine

Rolls-Royce has unveiled the Bergen B36:45 model, its latest in a series of liquefied natural gas (LNG) fueled marine engines, at the SMM maritime exhibition in Hamburg.Power output of the LNG-fueled B36:45 engine is identical to that of the liquid-fueled B33:45 at 600kW per cylinder at 750 rpm. Specific energy consumption is a low 7300kj/kWh mechanical ISO including two engine driven pumps; specific lubricating oil consumption is less than 0.4g/kWh.The B36:45 is available in six, eight and nine-cylinder in-line configurations.

Rolls-Royce Equips Hybrid/LNG Live Fish Carrier

Nordlaks in Stokmarknes, Norway, is currently building a 385m long and 60m wide offshore salmon farm. The installation is being built at the CIMC Raffles yard in China. Nordlaks has also ordered a new hybrid/LNG live fish carrier (wellboat) to be built at the Tersan shipyard in Turkey. Rolls-Royce has been commissioned to provide equipment for both newbuilds, which have been designed by NSK Ship Design.Rolls-Royce will supply six TT1100 tunnel thrusters to the massive fish farm, which has been designed to produce salmon further offshore than has been possible so far.

MIRATECH Launches New Catalyst Line
