Nautican to Ship First IPU from Prince Edward Island

The Nautican Research and Development manufacturing facility in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, said it is now ready to ship the facility's first Integrated Propulsion Unit (IPU) to a client in Alaska. “Nautican is another excellent example of an emerging advanced marine technology company finding success right here on Prince Edward Island,” said PEI Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Heath MacDonald, who was on site with Nautican representatives to review the Ocean Series Class 200 IPU system prior to shipment.

Caterpillar Marine is establishing a new Marine Center in Singapore in the facility previously occupied by Caterpillar Remanufacturing, at 5 Tukang Innovation Grove. The new center will bring together in one location almost 200 people employed by Caterpillar Marine in Singapore. Metalube Expands Manufacturing Capacity

Reporting an upsurge in product demand, lubricants manufacturer Metalube has recently taken possession of the industrial unit located adjacent to its current site, increasing the space available to the company by over 70 percent. Metalube now occupies a 1-hectare site, which includes a 2,500 sq. meter covered factory, warehousing and office space alongside a brand new state-of-the-art laboratory. The company has also purchased four new Jungheinrich fork-lift trucks to service this new and improved site.

China Rongsheng Delivers First Container Ship

China Rongsheng Heavy Industries Group Holdings deliver their first container ship to a German owner. The new 6,500-TEU container ship measures 299.95 meters in length, 40 meters in breadth and 24.2 meters in depth.
