WinGD X-DF Runs on NG-VOC mix
WinGD and Wärtsilä Gas Systems have tested a NG-VOC (Natural Gas - Volatile Organic Compounds) fuel mix for the WinGD X-DF engine, selected to power two 125 000 dwt Shuttle Tankers for AET. Guests from AET, Statoil, OSM Maritime Group, Samsung Shipyard and Hyundai Heavy Industries-Engine & Machinery Division were on hand in Trieste, Italy, in March, to witness the successful test of a WinGD X-DF engine running on a NG-VOC mix. The test demonstrated the engine’s capabilities under various load scenarios with up to 20% VOC in the fuel ratio.
Hecules Offshore Buy KS Energy Liftboat 'Titan 2'
Hercules Offshore executes a definitive agreement to acquire the liftboat 'Titan 2' from a subsidiary of KS Energy Ltd. The purchase price is $42 million in cash. The Titan 2 is a 280 foot class vessel, constructed in 2008, registered and flagged in Panama, and currently located in Limbe, Cameroon. Maersk Drilling Secures Offshore West Africa Contract
Jack-up rig 'Maersk Endurer' contracted for 2-year drill off Cameroon, adding about US$ 100-million to Maersk Drilling's contract backlog. Maersk Drilling expands its activities in West Africa with the signing of a contract for the jack-up Maersk Endurer with Addax Petroleum, owned by Sinopec, which is one of the largest oil and gas producers in the world. The contract duration is two years and the value is around USD 100 million.
