Air New Zealand Wins Deal to Service US Navy Engines
Air New Zealand said its Gas Turbines business unit has been awarded four contracts from the U.S. Navy worth up to $42 million to service its fleet’s gas turbine engines. The contracts will see the Auckland based Gas Turbines team carry out maintenance and overhaul work of the General Electric LM2500 gas turbines that power much of the U.S. Navy fleet for the next few years. Air New Zealand Chief Operations Officer Bruce Parton said the contracts are an important win for the airline, and the company participated in aa competitive bidding process to secure the work.

Keppel, BG Group JV to supply LNG Bunkers in Singapore
Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), through its wholly-owned subsidiary KS Investments Pte Ltd (KSI), and BG Group plc (BG Group) have been selected to supply Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunker to vessels in the Port of Singapore. The joint bid submitted by Keppel O&M and BG Group for the LNG bunker supplier licence is one of the two top bids selected by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA). The awarding of the licence is in line with the Port of Singapore's plans to launch the LNG Bunkering Pilot Programme in 2017.

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. introduced its new 120-foot, 4,200-horsepower Inland Towboat design, THUNDERBOLT, combining twin electric V-Pod propulsion and diesel-electric technology for what the builder calls its “vision of the future for the U.S. Eastern said the idea for the THUNDERBOLT came from across the aisle conversations at the 2013 International WorkBoat Show in New Orleans. Two Offshore Industry Contracts for Rolls-Royce
Rolls-Royce will supply Petrobras with advanced maintenance and repair services to support fifteen Rolls-Royce RB211-G62 industrial gas turbine power generation units which are installed on four Petrobras oil platforms operating in the petroleum rich, pre-salt Campos Basin. The four Petrobras platforms, which together can produce over 500,000 barrels of oil per day, or 25 per cent of Brazil's entire output, are reliant on nearly 375MW of Rolls-Royce generated power to maintain a consistently high production output.

Rolls-Royce, a global power systems company, has opened a new Marine Service facility in Guangzhou, to better serve its growing customer base in southern China. Rolls-Royce is expanding its marine services network in China to deal with increased customer demand. The new facility in Guangzhou joins those already in operation in Hong Kong, Dalian and Shanghai. The newly opened facility, located in proximity to Guangzhou’s busy commercial port and ship repair yards, includes a maintenance workshop and offices for a small team of service engineers and customer support personnel.

The contract work included repairs, an overhaul of the bow thruster, removal of two Becker rudders, overhaul of trailing flaps and two Stabilizer trailing flaps, and a complete change of livery with new ship side logos. The long-term relationship between the dockyard and United European Car Carriers (UECC) highlights the importance of repeat business for A&P Falmouth. In the past 15 years UECC has docked at least one vessel per year inFalmouth.
