GE's Propulsion Package for Dutch Navy's New Combat Support Ship

Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) has ordered energy management and electric propulsion package from GE’s Power Conversion for the new Combat Support Ship (CSS) being built for the Royal Netherlands Navy.The CSS ordered by the Dutch government in December 2019 will be 180 meters in length, will accommodate a 75-persons basic crew, with capacity for an additional 85 persons on-board. KVNR Recognizes KOTUG for Hybrid Tugs

The Royal Association of Netherlands Shipowners (KVNR) has awarded its Shipping Award to Netherlands-based towage operator KOTUG for its next-generation ART80-32 Hybrid Rotortugs. The award was presented during the 10th Dutch Maritime Awards Gala in Rotterdam by Tineke Netelenbos, chairman of the KVNR Shipping Award jury, who stated, “The propulsion configuration of these new-generation ART80-32 Hybrid Rotortugs series draws on the proven design of KOTUG’s RT Adriaan, world’s first hybrid Rotortug built under class. In 2012 KOTUG retrofitted this conventional Rotortug into a hybrid Rotortug.

Damen’s First Hybrid Tug Delivered

Iskes Towage & Salvage took delivery of the Bernardus, the first Damen ASD 2810 Hybrid, Damen announced in a press release today, stating the delivery represents a turning point for the tug industry as operators and port authorities demand innovative solutions to rising fuel costs and stricter emissions regulations. Warship Delivered to Moroccan Navy by Dutch Shipyard

SIGMA Class Frigate, 'Allal Ben Abdellah', built by Damen Schelde Naval Shipbuilding (DSNS) in Vlissingen, transferred to the Royal Moroccan Navy. DSNS took the opportunity for the ceremony to take place in Rotterdam, during the 35th edition of the "World Port Days". The delivery of the last ship of a series of three marks the culmination of a period of dedicated and successful partnership with the Royal Moroccan Navy. All three ships were delivered in time, on schedule, meeting all the requirements as stated in the contract.
