Seaboard Marine Adds First LNG Vessel to its Fleet

U.S.-based Seaboard Marine announced it has acquired its first vessel fueled by cleaner burning liquefied natural gas (LNG).The 1,000 TEU Seaboard Blue, previously known as the Elbblue, was retrofitted in 2017 with the capability of running on both LNG and diesel fuel. Northern Lights Opens Branch Office in Louisiana

Marine power generation and climate control products manufacturer Northern Lights has opened its fifth branch office, in Kenner, La, to enhance service to Gulf and inland waterways boat builders and vessel operators. The new Northern Lights Gulf branch, which will employ a full-time sales, parts and service staff, will warehouse marine, industrial and commercial series products. The new branch will service customers in the Gulf of Mexico and navigable inland waterways in the Midwest and Eastern regions of the U.S., including the region’s key ports: New Orleans, Houston, Pensacola and Paducah.

AJ Halavacs, Pleasure Craft Product Line Manager, North and Central America at ZF Marine Propulsion Systems Miramar LLC, the North American arm of ZF Friedrichshafen AG Marine Propulsion Systems, has died after fighting illness for a number of years. He was 59. “It’s a devastating loss to our team and to the industry” said Wolfgang Schmid, Director, Industrial Technology, Head of Marine Propulsion Systems Region North and Central America. “The consummate salesman, AJ had a gregarious personality not soon forgotten. It seemed that there wasn’t a person in this business that didn’t know AJ.

Chandler Cleveland Named RPG Branch Manager

Resource Power Group (RPG) appointed Chandler Cleveland as its Branch Manager, Doral (Miami) Operations effective immediately. “Mr. Cleveland previously worked in both service and shop management of MaK products at RPG-Doral as well as in sales. Boat Transport: Ocean Trade Lines Fix US/Far East Delivery

Florida-based boat transporters Ocean Trade Lines orchestrate transport of two Zyvex Marine vessels, Seattle to Malaysia. Last month Ocean Trade Lines, operating out of South Florida, USA, announced that their cargo-yacht-boat shipping services would expand to now service most of the Far East ports of call. Since the announcement was made, the company has seen a major influx in requests for boat transport services to the region. Ocean Trade Lines now offers a bi-monthly direct service to all major ports of call in the Far East.

Marine Industries Association of South Florida hosts Monaco discussions with international grouping on the future of the yachting industry. The Marine Industries Association of South Florida (MIASF) recently played host to twenty-six industry notables representing twelve industry associations interested in promoting professionalism within the yachting industry. The invite only luncheon, held at the Monaco Yacht Club, included international associations and dignitaries that have a vested interest in improving the economic opportunities of the global yachting market.
