50 Ton Heavylift Hovercraft Ready for Charter

First such vessel built in Singapore. Hovertrans Solutions Pte. Ltd. (Hovertrans Solutions) announced today that it has successfully completed the construction of a modular heavy lift hovercraft, the first of its kind to be built in Singapore. The hovercraft, commonly referred to as a hoverbarge, is now ready for charter. It is ideal for industries such as oil and gas, heavy logistics industries as well as for civil engineering work in otherwise inaccessible or environmentally sensitive terrain.

ST Engineering Wins $60m Shipbuilding Contracts

Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) reports that its marine arm, ST Marine, has won two shipbuilding contracts worth about $60m from Swire Pacific Offshore Operations (Pte) Ltd (SPO), a wholly owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific Limited. These contracts to build and outfit two Anchor Handling Tug Supply (AHTS) vessels, measuring 92m by 22m, are in addition to the existing shipbuilding contract with SPO, announced in June 2011 for four AHTS vessels. For these contracts, SPO will supply a larger proportion of the major equipment for ST Marine’s integration and installation.

MTU to power eight Republic of Singapore Navy’s new patrol vessels. Employees and guests, including senior representatives from the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) and Ministry of Defence, gathered at Singapore Technologies Marine (ST Marine) to witness the launching of the RSN’s newest vessel, Independence, by Ivy Ng, wife of Singapore’s Minister for Defense. This is the first of the series of eight new patrol vessels currently under construction in ST Marine for the RSN since June 2014. All eight Littoral Mission Vessels (LMV) will be powered by MTU Series 4000 diesel engines.

Warship Received by Royal Thai Navy

The Royal Thai Navy has officially received the first Endurance-class landing platform dock ship, HTMS Angthong (LPD-791) at Laem Thien Port, Sattahip naval base in Chon Buri, Thailand. The design of the LPD is proprietary to ST Marine and is based on its Endurance Class of LPDs. The design is proven by the four 141m Landing Ship Tanks (LSTs) that ST Marine built for theRepublicofSingapore Navy. Valuable Shipbuilding & Repair Contracts Won by ST Engineering

Singapore Technologies Engineering’s Marine Sector wins S$179-million worth of shipbuilding and repair contracts. The contracts include a contract to build two additional Offshore Support Vessels (OSVs) as well as a series of repair and upgrading projects. Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC (Hornbeck) has exercised the options for two additional OSVs valued at about S$111m (US$89m), to be built by the marine sector’s US shipyard, VT Halter Marine. These two new vessels are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2014 and first quarter of 2015.

ST Marine Launches Sixth LMV, Fortitude

Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine), the marine arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering), has successfully launched the sixth Littoral Mission Vessel (LMV), Fortitude, designed and built for the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN). The ceremony, held at ST Marine’s Benoi Yard, was officiated by Mr Ng Chee Meng, Minister for Education (Schools) and Second Minister for Transport. Mr Ng’s spouse, Mrs Michelle Ng was the lady sponsor who named and launched the vessel in accordance with naval traditions.

Singapore Navy Patrol Boat Order for ST Engineering

Singapore Technologies Engineering wins Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) contract for the design & build of eight new vessels. The Group’s marine arm, Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine) will build the eight vessels at its Singapore Benoi Yard. Singapore Technologies Electronics Limited (ST Electronics), the Group’s electronics arm, will supply the core combat systems and combat system integration solutions. ST Marine will carry out the platform system integration as the lead system integrator.
