Japan’s Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) held a naming ceremony at its Sakaide shipyard for the new liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier owned jointly by NYK Line and JERA.The ceremony was attended by Hendrik Gordenker, chairman of JERA Co. Inc.; Yasumi Kudo, chairman of NYK; and a number of related parties.At the ceremony, the ship was named “Shinshu Maru” by Mr. Gordenker and the ceremonial rope holding the vessel in place was cut by his wife. Thrustmaster Buys Rolls-Royce DP
Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine has signed an agreement to sell the product Dynamic Positioning (DP) to the U.S. based company Thrustmaster of Texas, Inc.The agreement means that Thrustmaster of Texas now takes over the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) required to produce and sell the DP product. Mitsubishi Shipbuilding held a christening ceremony for a next-generation LNG (liquefied natural gas) carrier under construction for MOG-X LNG Shipholding S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL).The ship, named "LNG JUNO," is the third "Sayaringo STaGE" type vessel, and is Mitsubishi Shipbuilding's newest carrier to feature significant improvements in both LNG carrying capacity and fuel performance through adoption of a more efficient hull structure and an innovative hybrid propulsion system.

Mercury Marine Donates Boats, Engines to Harvey Relief Effort
Mercury Marine, in an effort to help in the recovery mission in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, said it has donated multiple boats and engines to the affected areas. This week, Mercury deployed 30, 6hp outboard engines as well as 10 inflatable boats to be sent to the command center in Texas. In addition, the company donated a 40hp outboard engine to Boots on the Ground, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veterans and qualified civilians to provide in-field emergency and primary medical care. The state command center in Texas has also identified the scarcity of life jackets.

The business park at Twinwood, a new west Houston destination for companies dedicated to research and development, distribution and light manufacturing, has finalized its first agreement to bring MAN Diesel & Turbo’s new North America headquarters to the 650-acre property. Located just south of I-10 between Woods Road and FM 1489, the business park at Twinwood is part of a proposed, 14,000-acre master-planned community of low, medium and high-density residential along with retail, hospitality, higher education and office.
