Yanmar Rolls Out New Marine Power Offerings
Yanmar has already introduced several new products for the marine market in 2018, including a new common rail inboard marine diesel engine touted as the world's smallest, higher horsepower offerings in its mid range series, and expanded joystick controls. Yanmar Marine International has launched the latest addition to its family of new generation common rail (CR) diesel engines, the compact Yanmar 3JH40 inboard engine, at boot Düsseldorf. The three-cylinder 3JH40 has been developed as the marine industry’s smallest CR inboard diesel engine, Yanmar said.
Yanmar Acquires Flexofold
Yanmar said it has reached an agreement to acquire of 100 percent of the shares in Denmark based propeller manufacturer Flexofold ApS. With the acquisition Flexofold, which develops and manufactures low-drag folding propellers for sailboats and multihull yachts, Yanmar said it aims to strengthen its position in the recreational marine industry. Flexofold will maintain its own brand identity as it continuse to operate from Denmark. Flexofold founder, Jack Skrydstrup, will remain employed as special adviser focusing on R&D and product development.
Yanmar Launches New Diesel Outboard
Following its agreement with German manufacturer Neander Shark for exclusive global distribution of the Dtorque 111 twin-cylinder 50 hp diesel outboard engine, YANMAR MARINE INTERNATIONAL (YMI) has announced the official launch of this new propulsion product. The compact Dtorque 111 is designed to revolutionize the small workboat market where its expected lifespan of well over 10,000 hours at least doubles that of any comparable outboard gasoline engine. The Dtorque 111 offers a smooth and quiet diesel engine, delivering 50 hp at the propeller with a torque output of 111 Nm at 2,500 rpm.

Yanmar to Display New Common-rail Diesels at METS
Yanmar Marine International (YMI) will show its new range of common-rail fuel injected marine diesel engines rated for leisure marine and workboat applications at METS 2015, RAI Amsterdam, November 17 - 19. Topping the bill of new inboards is its in-line six-cylinder is rated at 440 mhp at 3,300 rpm. This is the world marine-trade debut for the new unit, which will also be offered in a 400 mhp version and will go into full production early in 2016, YMI said. Neander Deal Sees Yanmar Return to Diesel Outboards
Marking its return to the diesel outboard market, engineering company Yanmar Marine International (YMI) has reached an agreement for exclusive distribution rights with German outboard manufacturer Neander Shark. YMI, whose headquarters are in the Netherlands, will distribute Neander Shark outboards worldwide through its network with access to more than 130 countries. From 1985 until 2009 Yanmar manufactured three-cylinder diesel outboards rated at 27 and 36 hp, but ceased when EPA and EU RCD emissions regulations restricted their sales in key markets.
Yanmar Appoints Lettinga as Global Sales Manager
Yanmar Marine International has appointed Floris Lettinga as Global Sales Manager. His promotion from his previous role of Manager, Marine Sales Department for Europe, Russia and Africa, follows the diesel engine manufacturer's recent relocation of its global marine leisure and light-duty commercial engine business headquarters from Osaka, Japan, to Almere in the Netherlands. Lettinga has worked for Yanmar in the marine leisure sector since 2003 when he joined the company as an account manager for Yanmar Benelux.

Having reached the age of retirement, Geert Jan Mantel will resign from his position as President of Yanmar Europe B.V. as per June 30, 2014, a position he has occupied since April 1, 2002. He will simultaneously step down as Managing Director of the Yanmar Co. LTD Board of Directors in Osaka, Japan. He has served as a member of the Board since June 2009.
